FAQs
Is your community a non-profit organization?
Yes. Trino Academics Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation.
Is your community run by a church?
No. We are a separate, Christian community.
What is the role of parents at Trino Academics?
Parents are responsible for the majority of their child's education and will continue with the material covered in community on days at home. Tutors will guide parents and students on what the requirements are outside of the community.
How is the curriculum chosen?
Choosing the curriculum is a team effort by certified teachers and homeschool specialists. We provide a learning list of what each students needs and it will be used both in the community and at home. Tutors will provide curriculum enrichment to enhance the curriculum chosen and guide parents on implementation at home.
Who purchases the curriculum?
Parents purchase the curriculum. Trino will provide the curriculum that is required, as well as additional suggested learning.
Who handles grades and reports to NYS?
The parents will keep a record of their children's grades and do all reporting required according to NYS homeschool regulations.
Is there a dress code?
Yes. At Trino Academics, we strive for excellence in all that we do. This includes the way we dress. Students and Tutors should dress for success. Think of your Sunday best.
When can I join the community?
Our 32-week program starts in September and ends in June. However, families looking to join after our start date are welcome (based on availability).
Can you accommodate special needs?
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any special needs. Our tutors are not specifically certified for special needs and our space is limited.
